The Art of Flexibility

As the Director of FACETS at Grand Living at Tuscan Lakes, one of the most important tools in my toolkit is flexibility. In a role where no two days ever look the same, adapting to last-minute changes, schedule shifts, and unforeseen circumstances isn’t just common, it’s expected. Whether it’s a vendor or speaker cancellation, a timing conflict, or a resident request that spark a whole new idea, I see each curveball as an opportunity to rise to the challenge and find a solution that keeps the experience joyful and seamless for our residents.

That said, flexibility isn’t always easy. Adjusting quickly under pressure and reshuffling moving parts takes focus and patience. While I always aim for smooth and polished events, there are times when behind-the-scenes, it’s a juggling act. I ask for a bit of grace in those moments, not as an excuse, but as an honest acknowledgment that sometimes the plan needs to evolve. Please know that when it does, it’s never taken lightly. Every change is guided by one goal: to create meaningful, memorable moments for the residents we serve.

Perfection may not be attainable, but that doesn’t stop me from striving for it every day. I approach each week with the intention of delivering creative, vibrant, and enriching programming. While I am not perfect, my commitment to excellence remains constant. I’m fortunate to have a dedicated team by my side who shares that same drive, to think outside the box, to make things beautiful even on a budget, and to elevate the everyday into something special.

To everyone who supports our efforts: thank you. Your understanding means everything, and it fuels our motivation to keep improving. The heartbeat of Grand Living is the resident experience, and I promise that in every decision made, every activity planned, and every change embraced, that priority remains front and center.
